The dragon's silver eyes were rimmed with worry as he watched the body of the ancient monster. The creature was similar to a centipede, save for the fact that it was well over two-hundred feet long.
The monster, known as the "Burning Eye" for the single Cyclops-like pupil in the center of its grotesque head, was a legend throughout many societies of the world. Some more primitive cultures even called it a lesser deity, offering sacrifices to it occasionally to help stave off its ire.
